The view of old terracotta rooftops in Medieval European cities is always charming. A large black cupola and two similar shaped bell towers of the St. Nicholas church from the early 20th-century show a remarkable contrast with the rest of the scene. The Orthodox gold crosses were gifted to the Pseudo-Byzantine style church by Russia. Today, St. Nicholas is the most important Orthodox church in the Kotor area.
"The Municipality of Kotor will be open to such initiatives and ready to support all the projects that will contribute to the preservation of the cultural heritage of Kotor. I hope that the restoration of the main city gate will be just the first step in the restoration of what is the spirit, and I can say, the glory of this city," said Mayor of Kotor Vladimir Jokić, removing the curtain from the restored main city gate of the Old Town.
Those born in the stunning Boka Bay fell in love at first sight, and this deep feeling guides them through their lifetimes. “I've loved the sea most of all in my life”- says the grey-haired man in a hat in front of me rolling a cigarette. “Returning home after studying at the Belgrade Music Academy, I immediately ran directly to the shore, jumped in our boat and went to the sea.” Zoran Proročić is a famous Montenegrin composer whose creations sing of the beautiful Kotor bay life, its charming people and old Mediterranean traditions. He is the father of a big family and the owner of an authentic Kotor restaurant “Konoba Scala Santa”.
