May 31, 2018 - The ANIMA Women's and Peace Education Center from Kotor will mark the Day of the White Stripes at the The Arms Square at 17:00.

It has been 26 years since the crimes in Prijedor happened, when Serbian authorities ordered Bosnian and Croats to cover their houses with white sheets and to wear white stripes on their sleeves in public. There followed extermination, murder and persecution, and the order was issued by the Crisis Staff of the Prijedor Municipality. The president of the staff, Milomir Stakić, was sentenced to 40 years in the ICTY.

According to the official data of the victims' association, a total of 3,173 civilians were killed in Prijedor, of which 102 were children, while 31,000 men, women and children were detained in camps in the vicinity of Prijedor.

By staying here, we join the celebration of the International Day of the White Belt and remember the civilian victims of war and we oppose any form of ethnic violence, genocide, exclusion of others. We are dealing with the presence of growing fascism of Montenegro. Activists of ANIMA will symbolically wear white stripes and in that way they will remind others of the crime of civilians in Prijedor on 31 May 1992 and warn of the dangers of fascism - induce the ANIMA Women's and Peace Education Center.
