We present Lustica Bay, a new coastal town in Montenegro

The fascinating fact about the Bay of Kotor is that you are at the center of the most subtle embrace of the mountains and the sea.

In this epicenter of colors and fantastic views resides a new city on the Adriatic - Lustica Bay. A sophisticated Mediterranean settlement was incorporated with the care and builder's passion into a natural environment, to the extent that it is now difficult to even think that it was recently built. Lustica Bay, a small world, has residents from 36 countries, and the interest in escaping into unspoiled nature, in life as it should be on the Mediterranean, is growing significantly.

Thanks to the increase in sales, in the upcoming season, the cost of residential units will also increase, and all interested buyers are given the opportunity to book a property to ensure that the existing price is maintained until March 15th, 2019!

The development project of the new seaside town of Lustica Bay in Montenegro, which is proudly financed by the Swiss-Egyptian consortium Orascom Development Holding, in the bay Traste near Tivat, has achieved remarkable results over the past year by opening its door for visitors and guests as a completely new, operational destination.

At a place where the sea splashed over the steep and rocky shore until recently, a marine resort with modern berths to accommodate ships of up to 45 meters has been revived, the ultraluxe 5-star hotel of the international chain “The Chedi”, and the first catering, service and retail facilities along the promenade along the sea.

By anchoring the first ships in the marina, with the arrival of an increasing number of guests, and the increase in the number of permanent residents, with an extraordinary gastronomic and shopping offer, a significant emphasis on an enviable cultural and artistic program has been placed, so staying in Lustica Bay is more often on the list of domestic and international visitors. An attractive coastal ambience that reflects the luxury of the relaxed style of the Riviera and the exquisite architectural harmony attracted great public interest from Montenegro and the region. To the sailors is of particular importance a new marina, located on the entrance to the Boka Bay, and a special paradise for leisure travelers is surely the hotel “The Chedi”, a luxury resort on the coast itself, located next to the tucked hotel beach.

Apart from luxurious residences, including the apartments, villas, and family houses that are offered, even more important is the fact that by purchasing a residential building, the new inhabitant of Lustica Bay becomes part of a unique, luxurious, coastal community in the unspoiled nature. Within the Days of German Culture organized within the Mimosa Festival, a street performance was held at the main square in Herceg Novi, where a music band and dancers from the cultural-artistic society from Inzell in Bavaria performed. The gastro offer of this part of Germany was also presented.

Last night in Igalo an evening of German cuisine was held, where guests enjoyed in gastronomic specialities, drinks and traditional folk music and dance from Bavaria, and a unique contribution was given by the Tourist Organization of Inzell with its members.

Gastro-evenings were attended by the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Montenegro Robert Heinrich Weber and the President of Herceg Novi Municipality Stevan Katic. The German ambassador explained that Inzell is known as a popular winter center, but also as a place of good gastronomy and good people, which is why he is glad that this city represents Germany in Igalo.

The small Bavarian festival is only the first result of cooperation between Herceg Novi and the city of Inzell.

"Bearing in mind that Inzell is a famous winter center not far from Munich, we see the area of tourism as a key link for connecting. We hope that thanks to this cooperation, even more German tourists will hear about Herceg Novi and be our guests. An important goal for us is the cultural exchange among the cities that share European values, said the President of the Municipality, Stevan Katic.

"We come from a place that, like Herceg Novi, is engaged in tourism. I think that this is just the beginning of the cooperation, which will result in a greater exchange of tourists," said Steinbacher, after which a symbolic present was handed over to the delegation of the Municipality of Herceg Novi, the "milestone" for the future cooperation - a flag with a message "you own the first square meter of Inzell tonight," said the director of the Tourist Organization Inzell, Gerhard Steinbacher.

More than thirty producers presented themselves at the traditional Flower Exhibition, held within the Mimosa Festival.

"It is wonderful that the citizens of Herceg Novi, and myself, nourish the flowers. We welcome our guests with love; you are welcome whenever. Those of you who cultivate the flowers, are like the flowers, and help make this city a city of flowers," said the actress Tanja Boskovic at the opening of the event and said that "it is wonderful when the flower is a symbol of the city".

"The visitors of the exhibition can see a large number of different types of flowers, ornamental plants, fruit plants, even plant carnivores, miniature flower peaches, new types of orchids and other varieties that are very interesting," says the organizer Jovanka Matkovic.

Florists were less than initially planned, as some had problems with crossing the border, and the others had issues with the scheduled timing, explained Matkovic.

In addition to florists, some of the participants of the recent Fair of Souvenirs and Eco Food were also present at the exhibition.

The organization of the Flower Exhibitions was supported by Herceg Novi Municipality, Herceg Novi Tourist Organization, JUK "Herceg Fest", Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism, and KUD "Sloga" from Djenovici has given their costumes to the participants in the opening ceremony.

March 4, 2019 - The traditional Kotor Carnival was held on Sunday for the 501st time along with the burning of the culprit for all the problems of the city and citizens in the previous year. Đudić Ultima Montagnaro, formerly accused of nine counts of the indictment, was missing in flames, and the defense was not able to release him.

The carnival doll, which has been mentioned in the indictment and the offense described in the charge on Kotor citizen, President of SDP (Social Democratic Party) Ranko Krivokapić, faced several thousands of people, with fireworks and sounds of the death march, was burned to Mace.

Previously a joyful procession led by the Capo of the carnival, which was made up of several hundred imaginative masks - individuals and members of the carnival groups, the local music of Đenovići and the town music of Kotor, passed the main road from the former hotel "Fjord" to Tabačina.

The Carnival, Đudić Ultima Montagnaro, was introduced into the walls of the Old Town where a trial on the Arms Square was held.

The indictment was attended by the public prosecutor Dr. Gvero Spratkovic, aka Funjara, who said that the Accused had done almost a 30 years of incapacity and helping Major Devastator to make a private company from the state and Kotor, and the local community of Podgorica. He was accused of buying votes in the elections and placing his relatives and listeners in well-paid positions, regardless of their expertise, knowledge, and qualifications. He is accused of wishing the Old Town of Kotor to be baroque authentic to put on an anodized locksmith, spreading the windows. In Europe, he acted like a Democrat, at home as a dictator. He helped to change laws, not to the benefit of the people and the state than the elected tycoons to be more affluent, so that we would all be poorer. He is guilty that the spatial plan documents related to the Communion are not developed according to the needs of the population of the city.

"He did not want to give up his position, privilege, official travel and appendage until he had to, and now to those who made it all possible, he throws trees and stones," said prosecutor Dr. Gvero Spratkovic, aka Funjara.

Despite the defendants' attempt to challenge all nine counts, the president of the court Prof. Dr. Kornito Picikamorte condemned the defendant to death by burning.

After the burning of the carnival, the feast continued on the squares of the Old Town, where Italian band Terraros and Croatian musician Goran Karan performed.

A new edition of the traditional carnival satirical magazine "Karampana" came out yesterday in the press, which reads in the introductory: "It used to be a city of Kotor - today a settlement with characteristics of a city. Those from the DPS, as once Vučurovic for Dubrovnik, decided to make older, more beautiful and more advanced Kotor by the system of PROFONDO..

Karampana as an integral part of the traditional Kotor Winter Carnival dates back to 1926 and is sold at Kameni Kiosk in front of the Old town of Kotor.

Kotor President Vladimir Jokic pointed out that it is a well-marked tradition that lasts more than five hundred years.

"Today in Kotor it was nice to see when the main city street is closed, when people are walking and when they resist everything that has been bad in the past year. I hope to move this carnival maze and walk from Kotor to Podgorica and resist everything bad in this system," said Jokić.

On behalf of the organizer, the Cultural Center "Nikola Đurković," the director Marija Bernard expressed satisfaction with the overall organization of the Kotor’s Carnival, which was organized for the 501st time.

"Our goal was to be better than last year. The procession was vivid; with a large number of masks; with a critical review of the current situation. It was very demanding to organize all of this because the tradition of half a millennium is bound to excellence," Marija Bernard told Boka News.

Minister of the Interior Mevludin Nuhodžić and Director General of the Directorate for Emergency Situations Mirsad Mulićaddressed the audience.

Prime Minister Duško Marković sent a congratulatory letter to members of the protection and rescue services, noting that they are a reliable backbone both of Montenegro and our NATO partners.

Minister Nuhodžić emphasised that every year the rescue system is additionally improved. He recalled that last year a new firefighting aircraft was purchased and the status of 20 firefighters was solved. The Minister expressed special satisfaction with the Protection and Rescue Fund, through which over 94,000 EUR were allocated for projects that will further strengthen the rescue system. 02 March 2019 - The most expensive villa in Montenegro was sold in Tivat Municipality for 10 million EUR, stated Niko Laković, executive director of Nekretnina.me, a website offering superb luxury properties throughout Montenegro.

According to Laković, certain villas and apartments in Montenegro have been sold at even higher prices than in some other, more developed tourist destinations.

“Over the past few years, the real estate market in Montenegro saw an upward trend and the opportunities have been pretty favorable. The luxury real estate market functions mainly thanks to Porto Montenegro and Luštica Bay, where most of the high-end apartments were sold at higher prices than in some more developed tourist destinations,” said Laković.

The average price of villas per square meter in a high-end Montenegrin village ranges from 6,000 EUR to 7,000 EUR, said Laković, adding that some coastal villas are being offered from 5,000 EUR/sqm to even 10,000 EUR/sqm (palaces in Dobrota, Ljuta and Perast).

So far, affluent real estate buyers from Serbia showed the most interest in Montenegrin luxury properties followed by the Turks, Russians, and Brits.

Luštica Development Company, responsible for developing and building Luštica Bay, stated that last year was pretty much successful when it comes to selling homes and apartments which brought to somewhat higher prices of the remaining real estate in this newly built luxury complex. According to this company, the most expensive villa in Luštica Bay was sold for 2.43 million EUR and right now, there’s another 3-room townhouse available for purchase if anyone’s willing to give 1.03 EUR million for it. As for the apartments in this village, the most expensive one is situated in the residency ‘Kamelija’ and can be purchased for 1.58 million EUR.

February 28, 2019 - The Boka Gastronomic Trilogy is the name of the dinner organized by the Regent Pop-up Restaurant on 28 February from 7 pm.

This gastronomic symphony is prepared by the winners of the Regent's pop-ups competition: Julija Deković, Damir Moškov, and Lidija Latković. The tables will feature black rice, Škartoc fish, Kotor's pašta and Bishop's bread.

"We are looking forward to this project and this dinner, and we are grateful for the recipes and in particular the friendships we have with the winners," said Željko Knezović, Food and Beverage Manager at Hotel Regent, adding: "We rewarded the author at a social gathering on Tuesday, February 19, and their names will be found along with the Regent restaurant's Pop up menu. On the same evening, we organized a trial cook, where the authors and the great masters, revealed their little tricks, which we are especially grateful. This good energy and exchange of experiences is a guarantee of irresistible tastes for the dinner on 28th February."

Regent's kitchen manager, Marko Živković, points out that it was a pleasure to discover the secrets of local gourmet artists: "We have chosen dishes that fit into our concept, and we are delighted that we will be able to present our local gastro-culture to our guests. Selected meals will be on our menu as one of the four gastro lines, and guests can enjoy it by the end of March. It is possible that some of these dishes will fit into the restaurant offer during the summer months when the concept will be significantly different and adapted to the international clientele."

Asked how local, Bokelian dishes are tailored to the "fine dining" concept, Marko responds: "These are delicious dishes that we will prepare as our rewarded chefs taught us. Our intervention only applies to serve."

Dinner is 30 euros per person. This project aims to show the gastronomic identity of Boka Bay and to give importance to the indigenous Bokelian and hinterland dishes as part of Hotel Regent's offerings, as reported by the hotel.

In the Association of Serbian Writers, on France 7 street, the prize "Radoje Domanovic" for 2018 was awarded. In the category of foreign satirists ("The Excellency Satire "), this oldest and most prestigious international recognition for humor and satire in the Balkan and wider areas was given to Dragan Koprivica by one of the world's leading aphorists, Aleksandar Cotric from Belgrade.

Koprivica received the prize for the book of aphorisms "Etida in CG-mol" in the edition of one of the most prominent Montenegrin publishers, Podgorica's "Unirex".

The winners were decided by the Jury made of the following members: Radomir Andric (president) and Milovan Vitezovic, Petar Zebeljan, Vitomir Teofilovic, Sladjana Mitrovic, Radoslav Tilger and Aleksandar Cotric.

In his greeting speech, Koprivica emphasized that he was honored to receive the UKS prize with the name of the creator of the Serbian allegorical satirical story and that he is impressed with the composition of the eminent Jury, which consists of aphorists and satirists of the highest level. Therefore, it is not surprising, as he stated, that Serbia took over the baton of aphorisms in the world, and on that occasion he assessed:

Serbian aphorisms today are the greatest achievement, and as ballistic spiritual missiles, after the launch from Serbia, they can fly around the entire planet, and with a high degree of precision in return, hit any neuralgic point in the territory of Serbia. But, despite that, Serbia remains a great secret, and Montenegro has already been disclosed."

He also noted that he was honored that he is one of the laureates of the "Radoje Domanović" prize for foreign satirists, with winners from Poland, Russia, and Macedonia, with the remark that he felt like a guest in Serbia, but also as a local, and that a category "guests as locals" should be created.

At the same time, Koprivica warmly thanked the Ministry of Culture of Montenegro, and the Commission for co-financing projects in the field of art, which for several years now, because of political inadequacy, has not been given him any financial support for various legal tricks, and "Etida in CG-Mol" received a great international recognition.

That is why he will send a copy of the book with a dedication to the Ministry of Culture in Cetinje, as a thank-you note for the unperformed financial support.

In his address to the Jury and the present authors he read his aphorism:

"There is no need to separate grain from the weed everywhere: the weed got separated by itself, standing against the grain under the grain, it stood at the forefront of the grain."

After awarding the prize, Koprivica said to the Jury, Aleksandar Cotric, that his colleagues from Montenegro saw him as a world-class aphorist, and wished him new accomplishments in this genre, made only by the selected ones.

Minister of Sustainable Development and Tourism Pavle Radulovic is categorical that the six open bars on the Budva promenade this season will be removed, and that the caterers will be offered an alternative location. In the Program of temporary facilities for the zone of the sea property in the area of the municipality of Budva from 2019 to 2023, made by JP Morsko dobro and verified by the line ministry, on the promenade in Budva, towards the sea, many temporary facilities were removed, among which are six popular discotheques, some of which have existed for more than two decades – “Trocadero”, “Paris”, Ambiente, “Rafaelo”, “Maltez”, “Miami”.

Caterers submitted a request to the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism and "Morsko dobro" to grant the discotheques stay until October 2020, when the plan for the design of the promenade will be made.

Such an initiative was supported by “Morsko dobro”, that open-air disco-clubs, as an offer that attracts a large number of tourists, are kept for two more seasons.

"We all together have decided that such kind of entertainment, and this kind of offer, cannot be there. Nobody has anything against that kind of entertainment, because it obviously has its clientele, but not in that place. We have local hotels next to these objects, or five-star hotels being built, and it's extremely frivolous that we have such an offer in front of such facilities. We support this content, but the location, if tenants would be interested, in cooperation with the municipality and the leaseholders still needs to be determined," stressed Radulovic.

As Radulovic explained, instead of the open bars, the green area, i.e., a grass is predicted in this area.

"We have the Lungo mare project for Budva, and we will soon begin designing. I think that Budva deserves a serious promenade - from Zavala to Avala, which should cover a large part of this area. One proper walking zone that would "uncork” huge crowds in the summer," Radulovic said.

The tenants previously told “Vijesti” that they are ready to apply all the necessary standards in their objects during this season, and that by their removal, the state loses at least one million euros in revenue, and nearly 300 people will remain unemployed.
