The public company for maritime management will publish a public tender for the lease of the coast to build new bathing resorts in three municipalities. The Government approved this at a session earlier this week.

New beaches, with the total area of 8,671 square meters, will be located in Bar, Herceg Novi, and Tivat.

"Two new bathing areas are planned in the town below Rumija. The first one is at Dobra Voda on the rocky coast, north from Veliki pijesak (100 m in length), with the surface of 1,447 square meters. The second is at the Ujta creek bay, extending 80 meters long and is 1,337 square meters. In Herceg Novi, a new bathing resort will be built at the Lustica peninsula, south of the Rose resort. It will be 85 meters long, with a surface of 4,187 square feet," the government’s session said.

The document points out that a new beach in Tivat is planned at Belane, where there is a sandy beach that is 95 meters long, covering 1,700 square meters.

The Department for the Protection of Cultural Heritage has stated that there are no protected cultural assets or assets with potential cultural values at the locations where the bathing site in Bar is foreseen.

"The realization and arrangement of the beaches in Herceg Novi and Tivat, keeping in mind that they are within the boundaries of the natural and cultural-historical area of Kotor which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List, must be implemented following conservation conditions and conservation projects," they iadded.
