The DP World group from the United Arab Emirates, led by sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, is interested in privatising the Port of Bar.

Prime minister Dusko Markovic met the sultan today. The PM emphasised that he was pleased because this renowned global company is interested in the Port of Bar.

“This is the exact kind of a partner that Montenegro needs to valorise its best and most promising port resource in the best way. My Government and I myself have the goal to put resources in the function of development, from which Montenegro and our citizens will benefit,” Markovic said.

DP World is a company which, among other things, manages 78 ports and continental terminals in 40 countries on six continents and whose last year’s revenue exceeds $4bn.

At the meeting, Markovic was also presented the activity of a company that, in addition to the management of ports and terminals, includes accompanying services and logistics, direct online connection with carriers and customs systems as well as accompanying businesses.
