28 August 2018 - Viewpoints are an inevitable part of the overall tourist infrastructure, especially in the protected nature, raising the attractiveness of the visit. From the Agency for Development and Protection of Orjen, they recalled 12 truly unique places and landscapes with a beautiful view.

Some of them are regulated and some of them are left to nature, or some of them are viewpoints located in the pure nature, while the others are hosted by the dominant buildings. The most frequent and simplest viewpoints are the extensions along the mountain walking paths, as well as those on pedestrian-hiking trails, the Agency explains.

“In the Herceg Novi’s hinterland we can really boast a large number of viewpoints, and for this occasion, we bring a map with sightings on marked walking and hiking trails. There are 47 locations with 35 "ordinary" and 12 exceptionally good viewpoints. The larger part (25) is located on mountain high tops, starting from those quite close to the city and the coast of the sea, to the highest peaks of the Orjen massif itself.

Also, this is the first state decision to protect Orjen, 52 years after the first initiative for the designation of a national park in the territory of Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina, including the geographical entity of the Orjen massif, and 10 years after the decision of the local assembly on the designation of a regional park.
