23 August 2018 - Although surrounded by high mountains, the Kolašin region is accessible and well connected with the rest of Montenegro. As a tourist destination, Kolašin's development is based on winter and summer tourism, and it is one of the most attractive and modern tourist centers in Montenegro and the region.

Kolašin’s tourist offer is diverse and can satisfy the tastes and needs of young people and the elderly, those who are looking for a peaceful vacation and those who are attracted to adventure and excitement.

The stay itself in this area offers all the benefits of an aerial spa. Mountain climate, altitude, and clean air, along with healthy food, all guarantee refreshment and recovery for all visitors. Whether guests are interested in adventure activities such as hiking, rafting, biking, horseback riding, fishing, kayaking, free climbing, snowshoeing, skiing or snowboarding, or if they want to dance the Argentine tango, look for a shelter in the mountains to discover nature, or have a holiday with family and friends, Kolašin is the right travel destination for everyone.

“According to the data that we currently have in Kolašin, there are currently about one thousand tourists in the city. As for the tourist structure, it changes significantly year after year, so this year we hosted tourists from Great Britain, Austria, and the number of guests from Belgium and France is noticeable. There are naturally tourists from Russia, Serbia, as well as domestic guests. If we talk about the percentage, this year certainly is dominated by foreign tourists, which is about 80 percent,” said the director of the Tourist Organization of Kolašin, Marija Brajović, for Portal Analitika.

According to Ms. Brajović, the pre-season in Kolašin was much better than the start of the season, since in that period Kolašin has had a significant number of seminars and conferences. Such activities resulted in the growth of both domestic and foreign tourists. At the very beginning of the season, bad weather affected the season, but during July and August, the weather improved significantly. August is the month when Kolašin is visited by a lot of tourists from different parts of the world. Reports indicate that at this moment the hotel capacities are full, while the interest for private accommodation is high. TO Kolašin representatives expect that by the end of the season, the occupancy rate in the city would be from 95-100 percent.
