June 29, 2018 – Do you like walking at night? In the Mediterranean summer, midnight is probably the most comfortable time for a walk when the heat and humidity finally become tolerable. If your imagination awakes in the dark, the night is the perfect chance for you to get inspired by the silent beauty of the sleeping Boka Bay.

The local community of the villages of Kameno and Zljiebi in the Herceg Novi municipality is organizing an exceptional walking tour above the Boka bay named “Boka in the moonlight” this evening. These villages are located in the Orjen mountain range that stretches around 25 km between Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The massif of Orjen lies east to south-east of Trebinje in Bosnia and Herzegovina and north-west of Risan in Bay of Kotor. The tour around the historical area of the Kameno village goes through the marked hiking trails and includes visiting three amazing view points Tajno Brdo, Grucalica and Silobod and lasts about 2 hours.

The start is at 20:45 (the full moon rises at 21:24) at the central crossroads of the village and the tour ends at the St. Jovan church with a presentation by the amazing Zeljko Starcevic, the leader of the local mountaineering association SUBRA and author of many guidebooks about the Orijen region. He will tell the group about the moon from the scientific aspect as well as through local beliefs.

It’s recommended to have a light with you as well as comfortable shoes. The tour is free and very popular - last year, it gathered 120 participants.

Don’t miss a chance to see the stunning Boka Bay from an unusual perspective!
