June 28, 2018 - According to the local reports, Dobreč beach attained the Blue Flag for the fifteenth time in a row!

Dobreč beach is a fairy-tale like pebble beach accessible only by boat from Herceg Novi, Rose, Žanjice, and Mirišta. The beach has a high-quality restaurant and cafe, as well as numerous beach beds, chairs, umbrellas, toilets and changing rooms.  Dobreč is a 70 meters long beach and it is hidden in the Boka Bay. People who enjoy privacy, tranquility,  crystal clear sea, clean coast, birds chirping, nice breeze and the sound of waves will definitely enjoy this beach! The Dobreč beach touches the open sea in the bay of Dobreč on the peninsula of Luštica. Dobreč Bay is, like the entire peninsula of Luštica, covered with macchia and typical Mediterranean vegetation.

An impeccably clean sea is the reason that for 15 years this wild beach on Herceg Novi´s side of Luštica deserves the Blue Flag. Awarding the Blue Flag is based on meeting the criteria in four basic areas: ecological education and information, water quality, ecological management and safety and service. For beaches, from 2017, it is necessary to comply with 33 criteria, out of which 28 are imperative and 5 are recommended. Some of the necessary criteria are: ecological and educational activities, highlighted map of the beach with marked different contents, compliance with requirements and standards regarding frequency of sampling of sea water, fulfilling requirements and standards in terms of microbiological, physical and chemical parameters of sea water, sanitary facilities with controlled drainage, emergency response plans etc.

The flag was symbolically raised by an Olympic swimmer, young novice Jovana Terzić, who from autumn continues her studies and swimming career in New York at St. Francis University. She says she is honored to be chosen to raise a flag on the beach she is eager to visit with her family every year. Milutin Govedarica, a representative of the Tourist Organization of the city, said that he would always find a way to promote such a beautiful city destination. Zoran Banićević, a rentier of the beach, points out that prestigious recognition is important for his guests: “This prestigious award is important for our guests as it guarantees the quality of water, hospitality, home atmosphere, quality food and good service. Our country was visited by many state presidents, ministers, well-known artists, but also crowned heads. Most importantly, our guests always come back.“
