Organizers have announced 30 teams, with the small regatta ships competition joined by teams from JK Lahor Kotor and JK Jugole Grakalić Herceg Novi, which will bring the number of boats in the regatta field to the same number, with a total of 150 sailors

The 12th edition of the Tivat Regatta, organized by JK Delfin in partnership with the Tivat company UNA Montenegro, is seriously close to turning this traditional spring competition on the most attractive route in the Boka Kotorska Bay into a festival of the sea – a reception for all good sea vibrations ahead of another sailing, nautical and tourism season on the Montenegro riviera. The Regatta is scheduled for Saturday, April 21, 2018 at noon.

Under the slogan “Everyone to the sea,” along with the standard distance sailboat regatta, the upcoming Una Montenegro Cup will take place on another two regatta fields. Sailors in the Optimist and Laser 4.7 classes will navigate the Tivat Bay waters, while across from the Delfin headquarters a competition will take place of remote-controlled model sailboats. In order to promote sailing, organizers made sure all interested Tivat residents and guests get an opportunity to watch the regatta from the sea, so during the competition several vessels will ferry them from the town Pina seafront, one part of the abundant additional program.

JK Delfin owns the most trophies of any Montenegro sailing club, active since 1951. The Tivat Regatta is a logical product of long tradition and great experience, as its route uses all the advantages and challenges of an apparently calm, but unpredictable fiord, especially its straits Ralo and Verige, where it is always most dynamic and attractive to watch from shore. The Saturday start is scheduled for noon, when sailboats will begin from Ponta Seljanovo, round Our Lady of Mercy and Saint Marko, moving through Ralo to Verige, where they tour Peraški Islands and turn to the finish at Ponta Seljanovo.

Organizers have announced 30 teams, with the small regatta ships competition joined by teams from JK Lahor Kotor and JK Jugole Grakalić Herceg Novi, which will bring the number of boats in the regatta field to the same number, with a total of 150 sailors. The goal of the manifestation, besides the sporting competition, is to promote sailing as a special and profitable tourism offer ahead of the Balkan Championship hosted by JK Delfin in September. Professional sailors bring the highest profit to a destination, right after golfers. This fact was recognized by Tivat District and its tourism board, who are continuing to support the club with increasingly better results on the global sailing scene.

A specialty of the regatta is also in the fact that Delfin and UNA Montenegro have managed to secure the support of large companies for this edition – Porto Montenegro and Luštica Development, but also a large number of small and medium businesses from Tivat, which will help for this sea festival to be embraced by the entire town.

The organization of the Tivat Regatta UNA Montenegro Cup 2018 was joined by a large number of artists and creatives. The original illustration was made by academic painter Jana Farkaš, trophies were made by the glassworks Banak and Goran Moškov Gonzo. The music program will be made of a repertoire from all continents. The award ceremony, set for 18:30h outside JK Delfin, will be accompanied by the Akustik Band Jagnjen, while beats at the after party will be the work of popular DJ Shevalier, Tivat native Dalibor Ševaljević, who will also follow the regatta as a professional photographer.
