The finals of the ABA League will not be played on the original dates. Both clubs sent the request to move the games - Budućnost Voli demanded the games be moved ahead, to April 13 and 14, while Red Star wants to play in Belgrade on April 10 and 11, instead of the 9 and 10, reports Vijesti on April 5, 2018.
The Podgorica club sent a motion to move the games 24 hours in advance because, on April 12, Milo Djukanović has his last convention at Morača hall before the presidential election in Montenegro.
Since the hall is busy and only hosts the most significant events, the leaders of the ABA League have had to accept new terms.
However, Red Star also requested that the first two games they host would also be rescheduled.
The three-time champion demanded that the first two days of the finals be played one day later.
However, the Administration of Budućnost replied that it was unfair as they already purchased airplane tickets and reserved accommodation for the team, staff headquarters, management and friends of the club. The ABA League Director, Krešimir Novosel, and sports director, Žarko Čabarkapa, should by Friday.
"We have not yet received an official letter from the ABA League; it will probably be on Friday. It's not a problem to play April 13 and 14 in Podgorica, but the fact that the 9th and 10th were secured for matches in Belgrade, and now Red Star wants the 10th and 11th, is not possible. We already bought tickets and reserved accommodation not only for the team but also for everyone traveling with us," said the director of Budućnost, Slavko Radulović
Whatever decision is for the first two matches, the dates of the remaining three are determined, because, in addition to the duels in Podgorica, the day of the eventual master has been changed. Instead of Sunday, April 15, they would play the day later at the Aleksandar Nikolić hall.
