June 15, 2018 - The Montenegrin handball team defeated Croatia 32:31 in the rematch for the World Championship qualifications.

Montenegro celebrated in the rematch, but the Croatians will play in the World Championship thanks to the blowout victory (+13 point) in the first match.

Miloš Vujovic was the hero of the victory in Podgorica, having scored two goals in the final moments, including a goal for the victory in the last minute of the match. Montenegro played brilliantly in the first half and also had the advantage of seven goals for 13:6, but the Croats quickly reduced the score to a four-point difference and thus eliminated Montenegro's sure win.

In the second half, Croatia had a minimal advantage twice, but Montenegro found a way to come back and win against one of the better world selections.

Vujovic was the best player on Montenegro, scoring nine goals, while Božović added six goals and Čavor five. Even though Croatia lost, they will play at the World Championship in Denmark and Germany.
