November 14, 2019 - The strong southern wind, rain, and high sea level over the past few days created a lot of problems in Boka Kotorska. The high tide and heavy rainfall caused traffic to slow, with local protection and rescue agencies intervening in the sun and several locations to help flood-affected citizens.

At the Jaz in Budva, the sea threatens to flood several households due to bad weather and heavy rain, the MIA's Emergency Directorate said. The Protection and Rescue Service of Budva was pumping water from several flooded residential and commercial buildings and installing sandbags to protect the Old Town from flooding.

Meteorologists warn that the full moon (November 12 at 14:34:24) has further affected the tidal wave.

The storm did not damage the vessels at the Herceg-Novi City Harbor of Skver. According to Bozo Ukropina, the Port Management Agency director, the sea destroyed the bridge for powering the vessels with electricity and water.

"It is the strongest surge of waves, which happened last year in the same place. The top of the breakwater has been underwater since yesterday. The tidal wave has engulfed the entire Adriatic, the cyclones are getting stronger, but we did well compared to the environment," Ukropina said.

In other news, extreme sea levels were measured at the mareographic stations in Split and Ploce on Wednesday, according to the Croatian Hydrographic Institute. The meteorological station of Split measured a sea level of 1.515 meters above the mareographic zero. It is 91.1 centimeters above sea level.

"It is the highest sea level measured since 1955 since that station began continuous measurements. At 3.29 hours, the Ploče Mareographic Station measured sea level of 2,128 meters above the mareographic zero, that is, 88.7 centimeters above the mean sea level. It is the highest sea level measured since 2002 when the station began continuous measurements," the Croatian Hydrographic Institute said.

Meteorologists have warned of new troubles that are threatening as early as Friday, first due to the strengthening of the south again, then more frequent rain, the weekend, and the beginning of the new week and more abundant.
