14 August 2018 - About 73,500 tourists currently reside in Budva, which is several percents more than last year, according to the director of the local Tourist Organization, Mladen Franović. At the peak of the major summer season, the hotel owners note excellent occupancy.
"Budva is full in the peak of the season, and this is what we expected," Franović told the Montenegrin television RTCG. He added that among the guests in the capital of tourism the most numerous are those from the countries of the former Yugoslavia. Franović also stated that Budva is recording a more successful collection of tax revenues this year. "We have collected about two million euros, and we expect an increase of tax revenue by the end of the year in comparison with last year," Franović said.
Announcing a series of events, the director announced that Budva's caterers expect a good continuation of the season.
Budva is positioned as a destination for a crazy and unforgettable experience in the world, which was confirmed this year by thousands of young people who come almost every summer to taste the spirit of entertainment. A large open-air disco, as some like to call Budva, the metropolis of tourism is appreciated as a city that the young do not bypass during the summer.
And while everyone is talking about unforgettable entertainment, the Ministry of Tourism has made the official statement that "Budva, whether wanted or not, profiled itself as a destination of good fun". This is precisely one of the main reasons why thousands of guests who spend the summer in this city are returning to Budva again, all according to official surveys.
Budva is literally overcrowded, which is also confirmed by large traffic jams, crowded beaches, parking lots, and a city promenade that is practically impossible to pass through during the evenings.
