04 August, 2018 - The Bedem fest music festival, which is traditionally organized in the old town fortress in Nikšić, has shown that it fosters quality music in a city that is a good host, which is why on the first night of the festival, August 4th, Nikšić fortress was visited by many people eager for quality music and entertainment.
Bedem fest was opened by electro alternative band Sowas from Varaždin, which was one of the five finalists of the Croatian demo rock festival HGF – Hrvatski Glazbeni Festival (English: Croatian Music Festival) last year. Sowas is a project by the Sović brothers from Varaždin, and they are best described by avant-garde pop alternative sounds. They “Hypnotized” the audience with the sounds from their most popular song that has the same name.
Half an hour later, the stage was taken by the Auf Wiedersehen. Auf Wiedersehen is a Belgrade rock'n'roll / electro band, created in 2010. The audience loved their repetitive groove, energy and high-quality sound made with a lot of improvised segments.
The star of the evening was definitely Massimo Moreno Savić, a renowned Croatian pop-rock singer. At the beginning of his performance, the fort was already full, and the singer was greeted with a big applause. A large number of people of all ages enjoyed Massimo’s voice, as they were singing and dancing throughout the performance.
Later, the scene was then taken over by the band Električni orgazam, one of the most notable acts of the former Yugoslav rock scene, and a bit later by Anica Dobra. At 1:30 pm, one of the most appreciated underground hip-hop performers from Serbia, known as Smoke Mardeljano, performed on the scene. The first festival night was closed by the band Bolesna štenad.
The main concept of the festival is “Tvoj grad” (English: “Your city”), since the organisers are trying to promote the city of Nikšić by providing high-quality content to the audience. They are eager to put an emphasis on the positive feedback of the festival on the life of the local community and the image of the city. The organizer of this event is Bedem fest / Nikšić within the August repertoire of the Nikšić Cultural Scene 2018.
