Adventure Park Vrbanj to Be Opened Soon Radio Jadran

September 25, 2018 - Although it was planned to be officially open for the Day of the Municipality of Herceg Novi - 28 October, the first Adventure Park on Orjen will open earlier since the citizens and guests are already arriving to discover the park.

The Adventure Park on Vrbanj above Herceg Novi is completely set up, and citizens are coming to see and test its contents. That is why the official opening will be announced before the planned deadline. Although it is planned that the park will be put into operation for the Day of Municipality of Herceg Novi - October 28, the opening will most likely be on October 10, Radio Jadran writes.

The construction of the adventure park on Vrbanj - in the Municipality of Herceg Novi - has been realized within the framework of the wider project "Adriatic Canyoning" worth EUR 1,879,251, of which EUR 1,597,363.59 or 85% of the total investment from EU funds was provided. EUR 305,000 was selected from the total budget of the project for the Adventure Park Vrbanj.

The park occupies an area of 7,000 m² in the beech forest, northwest of the so-called Štefić house, at 1100 m above sea level. The Slovene company Vevrca d.o.o. whose offer amounted to EUR 128,550 was selected to purchase and install the equipment, while the contractor Krušo d.o.o. was selected for the execution of infrastructure works in the park zone, offering the lowest price of EUR 68,575.

According to the director of the Herceg Novi Agency for the Construction and Development of the City, Boro Lučić, entrance will not be charged, and training is ongoing for 8 instructors: "We finished work a few days ago and visitors have already started coming, not aware of the possible consequences. Therefore, by the end of the week, the park will be controlled by the Communal Police until we engage the guard," Lučić said.

The Park will further be managed by the City Development Agency and the Orjen Protection Agency.

The first adventure park in Herceg Novi will boast a trim track, zip line of 200 m, zip line for children that is 10 m long, (1,5 m long, 6-year-old and upwards, with 10 elements), a green trail (height of 1.5 to 6 m, 8-year-old, 11 elements) and a blue trail (6 m height for children up to 10 years), a school pitch, 24-car parking spaces and several smaller holiday huts.

In addition, a safety system for the latest generation of "safe rollers" is installed in the park, in line with EU standards, which provide users with all the content in the park. The capacity of the park is 50 visitors at a time, and a tour of the park takes 2 hours.

Director of City Development Agency, Boro Lučić, pointed out during a recent visit to the park while it was still under construction, that the project represents a certain way of returning to the heritage, to what Herceg Novi has to offer to its citizens and guests. "This is only the first and the best step," Lučić said, hoping that the private companies, and not just the Municipality, will start investing in the hinterland.
