Within the project “Art in Residence”, dedicated to the activation and revitalization of the fortress of Španjola (Spain Fortress), one of the main town landmarks, NGO Sinergija (Synergy) from Herceg Novi is organizing a lecture on Sustainable Building and Development that will be hosted by a member of the Green Building Counsel, Mr. Robin Gellately Smith. The lecture will take part in the Španjola fortress, and Mr. Robin Smith will be talking about the subject of his lecture on the example of the 15th-century fortress itself.
A famous architect and surveyor by occupation, the Chairperson of Green Building in Montenegro - by profession; actor and artist in the heart- Robin arrived in Montenegro 16 years ago. The only Englishman in Kotor who witnessed the rise of Montenegrin real estate and tourism; not only was he a witness, he actively participated in it.
Robin will also talk about Španjola fortress. His lecture will be the opportunity to meet with information that is not easily found about the Španjola fortress; Location planning / water collection / food / transport / location on which the fortress was built and its significance / construction systems as well as building elements that are not visible to us today, but were of great importance for the construction of the fortress of Španjola.
The lecture will be held in English on Monday, September 16th at 7 PM on the fortress of Španjola, and will be held as an integral part of the "Artist in Residence" program dealing with the activation and revitalisation of the fortress.
