85th Birthday Celebrations Held for Montenegrin Naval Ship 'Jadran'

August 13, 2018 - The naval ship of the Montenegrin Army "Jadran", launched a two-week celebration of the great jubilee - the 85th anniversary since it sailed for the first time.

The most prestigious sailing boat, decorated with flags, was conveyed by the sirens of yachts and water cannons by the Porto Montenegro firefighter boat "Vodena Kocija", which specially cruised with all the guests, accompanied by "Valiant" of the Navy VCG and other sailboats, from the promenade Pine in Tivat. 

In the maritime zone in front of Krašići, the Jadran was joined by a few more boats, making the solemn parade through Boka bay.

Passing through Verige and turning around Our Lady of the Rocks, the town of sailors of Perast were greeted by the old naval customs. The convoy was aired and secured by the Air Force of the Army of Montenegro with the "Gazela" type helicopter.

On the ship's deck, numerous officials from the Ministry of Defense and Tivat Municipality greeted the commander of the ship, Captain of the Corps Zoran Ivanovski, who referred to the historical background of the Jadran and the significance that this ship has for both the Army of Montenegro and the country whose is the greatest ambassador wherever it appears.

As proof of his words, the flags of the countries in whose seas Jadran has sailed were raised. Ministry of the Defense, Navy VCG, Municipality and Tourism Organization Tivat prepared a rich program of events in honor of the great jubilee.
