August 3, 2018 - There are currently 9,653 tourists in Kotor, which is 13 percent more than in the same period last year.

"The largest number of tourists staying in Kotor come from Russia, Serbia, the UK, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Poland and France," said Dragana Samardzic, the promotional manager at Kotor's Tourist Organization, to Radio Skala.

She reminded us that during the first six months in Kotor saw over 17,000 tourists, which is 55 percent more than in the same comparative period last year, while the number of overnight stays is higher by 60 percent.

"And in the segment of excursion tourism, there is a better visit, as evidenced by the fact that by the end of July, Kotor was visited by almost 260,000 tourists, which is seven percent more than in the same comparative period last year. When it comes to nautical and cruise tourism, in the Port Kotor there were 196 cruisers by the end of July, which is seven percent less than last year, while the number of passengers on the cruisers is less for two percent," she said.

Also, Samardzic said the number of yachts is less for two percent compared to last year, while the number of passengers on the yachts is lower by one-third.

"The location of the Roman mosaics in Risan with the unique representation of the Dreams God Hypnosis from the second-century b.c. recorded a greater visit, and by the end of July, the site was visited by over 22,000 tourists. Numerous tourist and cultural events organized during the summer in the ancient city attract tourists and influence their profile. A large number of them, especially from the region, decide to visit Kotor during the traditional feasts," Samardzic concluded.
