Chinese company Shanghai Electric Power Engineering entered the final stage of construction works on the wind farm on the Mozura hill. During the spring, it is planned to start mounting and installing wind turbines, the Ministry of Economy told Dnevne Novine.

According to information provided to this ministry’s representatives by the Maltese investor Enemalta plc, out of the planned €89m, around €35m has been invested in this wind farm so far.

However, the ministry failed to specify when the installing of the wind farm is expected to be completed.

As the subcontractor, Bemax, previously announced, last year the foundations for a total of 23 wind turbines were built.

In early March, first parts of the wind turbines and equipment were transported from China.

According to Dnevne Novine, asked to which extent launching of the Mozura wind farm will affect the overall electricity bill, the ministry said it would depend on many factors.

“Among other things, it will depend on the total projected power consumption for the specific year, the planned production of wind farms, as well as achieved production, which dominantly depends on meteorological conditions,” the ministry explained.
