German national airline company Lufthansa is interested in operating regular year-round flights from Frankfurt and Munich to Tivat, and Austrian Airlines, which is part of its management, should introduce a regular line from Vienna to Tivat.

Boka news published that these are the main details of negotiations for intensification of collaboration recently led by the representatives of Airports of Montenegro and management of Lufthansa, the largest European airline company.

The regional manager for Lufthansa in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia, Bernhard Wodl, met the executive director of Montenegro Airports, Danilo Orlandic, last week and spoke about improvements on collaboration and the integration of the German national airline company on Montenegro’s market.

The Lufthansa group is already present at Montenegrin airports throughout its low-cost company “Eurowings” which operates in the seasonal period between Dusseldorf and Tivat, i.e. the airline company Austrian Airlines which has flights throughout the entire year on a regular line between Vienna-Podgorica.

Eurowings has announced an increase of flights to Tivat this year and introduced a new line to Podgorica. Another member of the Lufthansa group, Belgium low-cost company “Brussels Airlines”, will have flights once a week on a regular basis from Brussels to Tivat, starting from May 9th this year.

The portal states that the presence of flights by Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines from Germany and Austria to Tivat is mostly promoted and encouraged by the Lustica Development, which is building a new tourism complex 'Lustica Bay' near Tivat, and takes special interests in achieving better airline connections with Western and Central Europe.
