June 09, 2018 - The cooperation of the Montenegrin electricity sector and the Chamber of Economy is excellent, but it can be further strengthened by the future involvement of this association in the improvement of legislation (in particular amendments to the Law on Energy), by organizing roundtables on current topics, public discussions, education and promotion of projects in this field is the conclusion of the conference held on June 7th, 2018 in the offices of Montenegrin Chamber of Economy.

The Montenegrin Chamber of Economy organized a meeting with the representatives of the electricity sector in order to further strengthen mutual cooperation. According to the reports of the conference, the participants that took part in the event were the President of the Chamber of Economy Vlastimir Golubović and his associates, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of “Elektroprivreda Crne Gore” Đokom Krivokapić, the Executive Director of “Elektroprivreda Crne Gore”, Igor Noveljić, the President of the Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System (Montenegrin: Crnogorski elektrodistributivni system – CEDIS) Board of Directors Miodrag Čanović, Montenegrin Electricity System Executive Director Zoran Đukanović, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Montenegrin Electricity System Vesna Bracanović and Montenegrin Electricity Transmission System (Montenegrin: Crnogorski elektroprenosni sistem) Executive Director Dragan Kujović, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Energy Regulatory Agency Branislav Prelević and Energy Regulatory Agency Board Member Dragoljub Martinović, as well as the Executive Director of Montenegrin Electricity Market Operator Milan Radović.

At the conference, the representatives of the Montenegrin Chamber of Economy announced that the capacities of the Chamber, as an institutional partner for decision makers to improve the business environment in Montenegro, are at the disposal of the electricity sector.

President of the Chamber of Economy Golubović highlighted that the Chamber is willing to organize an international event on the subject of the electricity sector: “The Chamber of Economy is ready to organize an international conference where representatives of manufacturers, regulators, and distributors of electricity would exchange experiences on topics proposed by this sector. Also, the I’m inviting all representatives of the electricity sector to take part in the work of the annual International Conference on Economy, which the Chamber traditionally organizes for the ninth time in Budva on October 25th and 26th, 2018.”

At the end of the conference, the representatives of both parties discussed the future cooperation and the potential topics that can be considered at future conferences. The WB6 energy community projects related to infrastructure improvement have been nominated as one of the focal points of future discussions and meetings.
