Telecommunication company Montenegrin Telekom (CT) has decided to expand its business to tourism traffic.

June 8, 2018 - In the tender by the Ministry of Tourism and Sustainable Development and the Directorate of Public Works (DJR), for the purchase of two tourist coaches for the transportation of visitors to Kraljevo kolo - Biogradsko jezero in the Kolašin municipality, Montenegro's Telekom's offer was selected as the most favorable. According to data from the Central Register of Business Entities, Montenegrin Telekom registered to perform cable telecommunications activities.

The purchase vehicles outside the road network CT offered to DJR for the price of 549,757.78 euro with VAT. The decision for the best bidder was signed on June 4th by the Director of DJR Almer Kalač. The decision was published the next day.

The estimated value on this tender, with the VAT included, was EUR 550,000, and the tender was published on the 19th of February this year.

The deadline for the job completion is 200 days from the contract signing. The contract was signed in the Municipality of Kolašin. A five-year guarantee period and a post-warranty period of 24 months are envisaged.

In 2005, Crnogorski Telekom was bought by the Hungarian Telekom, a member of Dojce Telekom Group. Since the beginning of last year, the management of the telecommunications company from Podgorica was taken over by the company of Croatian Telekom, registered in Zagreb, who is also a member of the Dojce Telekom group. Due to the sale of Telekom to the Hungarians, the Special State Prosecution (SDT) announced that it would file charges against the former CT leaders Oleg Obradovic and Miodrag Ivanovic, who are suspected to have illegally, by abusing their official position, acquired 2.300.000 euro during the privatization of the state-owned company. In the privatization of Montenegrin Telekom in 2005, US Securities and Exchange Commission filed a lawsuit against the Hungarian directors claiming that they (Elek Štraub, Andras Balog, and Tamaš Morvai) approved a corrupt scheme by which 7.35 million euro was paid out to at least two Montenegrin state officials and the "sister of the highest state official" per fake consultancy contracts to let the Hungarian Telekom buy CT under favorable conditions.

They will sell the Deltrain company trains

Montenegrin Telekom has provided DJR the certificate from the Portuguese company Deltrain S.A. that they have the right to sell their products in the original form. To prove the general conditions of the tender documentation, the tenderer has submitted a statement on the servicing of the offered vehicles, a statement on the assurance of the quality of the offered vehicles, the technical characteristics of the offered tourist train, and a technical description with the photo documentation of the offered train. As stated by DJR, the bidder has proved that he has fulfilled the general conditions of the tender documentation.
