The Municipality of Herceg Novi and the UNDP will jointly support the development of women's entrepreneurship in our city, concluded yesterday's meeting of UNDP in Podgorica. The municipality of Herceg Novi, as reported from the city hall, was represented by the city secretaries Suzana Memarović and Branka Mračević.
All women entrepreneurs interested in obtaining local government support in starting their own businesses, both at the stage of preparation of the application, as well as in the stage of realization of the business idea, will have UNDP experts at their disposal, but also financial support from the Municipality.
The working meeting was held at the initiative of the Municipality of Herceg Novi to implement the measures for encouraging women entrepreneurship by holding information workshops and consultations, as well as providing support through the development of business plans and financial support to women entrepreneurs who want to start their own business.
The UNDP Office in Podgorica, through the program for empowering women's participation in politics, and in cooperation with the "Women's Political Network", is implementing a project to strengthen women's entrepreneurship at the local level by providing legal support to local self-government units in preparing support models, as well as providing professional consultants and advisors to start and manage businesses.
The Municipality of Herceg Novi foresees funds of EUR 15,000 for the support of women entrepreneurship for 2018. In the coming month, the adoption of the Decision on the criteria, method, and procedure of the allocation of funds for support to women entrepreneurship is expected. After the Decision is adopted, the Secretariat will hold an information workshop for all interested parties to present the opportunity for support in the best way possible.
