May 18, 2018 - Montenegrin businesspeople had a successful presentation at a joint stand organized by the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro in partnership with the Montenegrin Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Economy and the Investment and Development Fund. 

From May 15-21st, the fair hosts have prepared numerous international business meetings, conferences, festivals and award ceremonies. The Novi Sad Fair organizes the International Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad, the leading fair institution in Serbia that specializes in organizing exhibitions, fair events, congresses, professional meetings and provides marketing, warehousing, and catering services. The organizers have already proudly announced that this year’s fair had gathered more than 1500 exhibitors from 30 countries and over 300 000 visitors!

The International Agricultural Fair has provided the visitors with the opportunity to experience numerous exhibitions, such as presentation about “Development of organic production and food quality policy”, “Grains Day 2018”, “Cattle Breeders' Day”, “IPARD – Experiences and possibilities”, “Spring Wine Festival 2018”, “Auction of the highest quality cattle heads”, “Champion awards ceremony for absolute quality champions of the 85th International Agricultural Fair”, and many others.

The fair was opened by the Serbian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Branislav Nedimović. The opening was attended by the Serbian Provincial Secretary for Agriculture Vuk Radojević, the Mayor of Novi Sad, Miloš Vučević, the Ambassador of France, Frederiko Mondoloni, as well as the Minister of Climate Change and Environment of the United Arab Emirates Tani Alzejudi.

According to the reports of Montenegrin Chamber of Commerce, guests of the fair have shown great interest in the products and services of Montenegrin companies Mesopromet, Plantaže, Martex, MI Goranović, Interprodukt, Eko Per voda Diva, Crnagoracoop, Wolf-Pakomonte, Drijen doo, Zetafish and Luke Bar, and the fair was also an opportunity to establish initial contacts for future business cooperation.

Prime Minister for Economic Policy and Financial System and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Milutin Simović, and the Secretary of the Association of Agriculture and Food Industry of the Chamber of Commerce, Lidija Rmuš, were both present at the fair. Ms. Rmuš took the opportunity to highlight a significant step forward for the state of Montenegro in the areas of production and achievement of food-related standards as well as the agricultural products export: “Over the past three months, exports to Serbia have been increasing, so we expect this positive trend to continue. Serbia is our main export market for agricultural products, along with Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and we expect significantly better results this year. I hope that this and future fairs where Montenegro will also perform with a unified offer will enable significantly better placements to other markets, especially the CEFTA region.”

During the International Agricultural Fair, on May 16th, 2018, a forum of businesspeople of Montenegro and Vojvodina was organized, where representatives of about 80 Montenegrin and Vojvodina companies from the field of agriculture and food industry, ICT sector, construction, logistics, trade, utility companies participated in bilateral talks. The participants of the forum were also the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro, Vlastimir Golubović, Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro Milutin Simović, the Chairmen of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce Marko Čadež and the the Chairmen of Chamber of Commerce of Vojvodina Boško Vučurević, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Provincial Government Đorđe Miličević as well as members of the diplomatic corps. During the forum, the representatives of both Montenegro and Vojvodina concluded that the cooperation with the countries of the Balkans region is an essential component of further progress and that the meetings and exchange of experiences and good practices will result in many useful initiatives in the future.
