Tivat is an Attractive Destination for Guests from the Middle East

Tivat has become a more attractive destination for citizens from the United Arab Emirates, said representatives from the Tourism Organization and Tivat Municipality at the most significant international fair of the Middle East in Dubai.

The delegation of TO and the Municipality was led by the mayor Snežana Matijević, with representatives from "Riana Group" who, as one of many foreign companies with their branch office in Dubai, participated in the 15th Arabian Travel Market 2018 (ATM) from the 24th to 25th of April, 2018.


"ATM 2018 is the leading international fair related to tourism and travel that reveals Middle East potential for inbound and outbound tourism and the entire world's tourism industry. Worldwide tourist destinations take part in this fair to display available accommodation capacities as well as their tourist attractions The fair also leads in introducing innovation in tourism, as well as the key air routes, in which Tivat can now be enrolled when this market is considered, " TO from Tivat reported.

The Fair in Dubai was opened by Sheik Maktoum bin Mohammed Rashid al Maktoum, Deputy Governor in Dubai. This year, the fair gathered more than 400 major exhibitors, featuring a total of 150 countries. More than 40,000 visitors attended the fair, with more than 65 national pavilions, representing the largest tourism event in the Middle East.


"After the invitation and cooperation with the Fly Dubai airline, which introduced a direct airline from Dubai-Tivat (starting from this summer 3 times a week) in 2017, TO Tivat presented all the potential tourist destinations through its material and with the material of its partner and thus 'opened' Montenegro to this part of the world. The representatives of the TO and the Municipality of Tivat - the Mayor of the municipality Snežana Matijević, the vice president of the Municipality Dejan Maslovar and the secretary for economic development and entrepreneurship Petar Vujović, took advantage of this opportunity to present the numerous tourist potential and the economy of Tivat, as well as to establish contacts with potential investors," said TO Tivat.

During the fair, the Tivat delegation met with the principal partners from the Fly Dubai Company, where they talked with the regional manager for the Middle East, Tarek Alkhalil, and the Lebanese market, Rani Koro. At a working dinner with investor Romi Havat, the owner of "Riana Group" headquartered in Dubai, considered new business ventures for this company, but there was also talk about the importance of helicopter transfers and panoramic tours as a tourist product by which Tivat is unique, and there is a substantial interest when the Middle East market is in question.

The representative of "Riana Group", Sanja Milosavljević, who joined the delegation as a journalist, spoke about Tivat with the ITN director of the Al Hilal publishing group - Kim Thomon, the leading Middle East publisher for seven magazines. Therefore announcements are expected to be published on their online and offline releases. There were also agreements for several influential Middle East tourist bloggers to visit Tivat in June. The meetings with the delegation from Fly Dubai Holidays aimed at creating three-day packages for tourists from Dubai and media from the Persian Gulf region countries wanted to find out more about the potential of presenting Tivat and Montenegro as tourist destinations. Turkish investors have presented their interest in investing in Montenegro, and especially Tivat as a destination. Municipal Secretary Petar Vujovic presented Tivat as an investment destination for Mr Cenk Konusuru and Serdar Balti from "Ottman Group" from Istanbul, owners of several elite hotels and restaurants in Istanbul who are interested in investing in Boka Kotorska

The Montenegrin Ambassador in UAE, Darko Uskoković and the Adviser to the Ambassador Duška Jeknić also met with the delegation from Tivat."At the Dubai Fair, it was concluded that the global rise of halal tourism is evident. It was emphasized that there are groups of women who would like to visit Montenegro and that they should be allowed privacy in their visit in accordance to religion, but it is also noted that Tivat is missing Halal restaurants and it is necessary to work on introducing this standard in catering facilities. One of the conclusions is also the need for the National Tourist Organization of Montenegro to be more present in the Middle East with the aim of creating a more qualitative joint performance," said TO Tivat.
