The young national selection was defeated with 2:1 in the second friendly match

The team coached by Milorad Peković played another good match, but the goal by Valentin Mihail in the 86th minute meant a defeat. Only seven minutes before they had scored an equalizer by Danilo Pešukić, who annulled the lead of the Romanians from the 15th minute, when Florin Burgele scored.

The Eagles could have scored sooner, but in the 18th minute Marko Rakonjac hit the crossbar. In the 22nd minute the Romanian goalie defended a strike by Ivan Vukčević from several meters out, while in the 37th minute Rakonjac was stopped in a similar situation.

“It seems we were quite spent in the first match, so we started this one more weakly, which the aggressive Romanians made use of and scored a goal. In the first twenty minutes we did not control the game and passing, but afterwards we took the initiative and created several chances. Although we equalized, we lost in the very finish. Still, I cannot be dissatisfied, we’ve had two good matches against a strong team. We showed some good sides, although there are segments we need to fix in the next period,” said selector Peković.
