To be able to qualify for the quarter-finals of the FIBA Eurocup, the Mornar basketball team will have to defeat Ostende by more than 13 points in the rematch in seven days. The first match in Belgium ended with the home team winning 84:71.
Ostende's decisive advantage came in the second half of the third quarter when Mornar led 49:47, but the home team made a series of 13:2.
The Belgian team then, in the last minutes of the match, through Mike Mayers and Dušan Djordjević, increased the lead and secured a rather easy rematch, scheduled to be played on March 14th.
Derek Nidam was the top scorer in Mornar with 23 points, Strahinja Mićović added 16, Brendis Railly-Ros scored 13, and Radoje Vujošević scored 11. The Montenegrin team from Bar played without Uroš Luković.
For the Ostende team, Mayers scored 17, Djordjević 15 and Vlado Mihailović 2 points.
