The Montenegro basketball team has moved up in the FIBA ranking!

The Montenegrins have progressed thanks to the fact that they lost to Spain, the second on the list, and Slovenia, who are ranked seventh.

Although they lost their last two qualifying matches for the World Cup in China, the Montenegrin national basketball team advanced on the FIBA ranking list.

The players led by coach Zvezdan Mitrovic are now 33rd in the world, with 218.9 points, just behind Nigeria, and ahead of Uruguay.

The first on the list is, of course, the United States with 735 points, ahead of Spain (704.7) and France (644). The fourth is Serbia (642.9), who replaced positions with France due to their defeat by Germany.

Slovenia is in seventh with 581.2 points, while Montenegro has progressed even though they lost.

Interestingly, New Zealand dropped from 31st to 39th place, although they won their last two games. These were, however, against weaker rated teams - Hong Kong and South Korea.
