Successful Performance of Montenegrin Triathletes in IRONMAN Barcelona Race

October 9, 2018 - Eleven Montenegrin competitors took part in the IRONMAN Barcelona race. Nine of them are coming back home with IRONMAN titles, which means they succeeded to overcome themselves and finish the most demanding triathlon race that includes miles of swimming, cycling and running.

In the most prestigious triathlon discipline - Ironman (3.8km swimming, 180km of cycling and 42km of running), held in Barcelona, 11 Montenegrin triathletes competed. The most successful was the national champion in this discipline, Dušan Milosevic from the Triathlon Club Podgorica.

It shows the heights that can be achieved when we push beyond our boundaries and go the distance to earn the title ... IRONMAN! "
 
Most of the attention was drawn to the results of TC Podgorica: Žana Pavićević finished the race in 12h 10min 59sec and became the first Montenegrin woman with the IRONMAN title, and according to expectations, the best Montenegrin triathlete Dušan Milošević ended his third IRONMAN race in 9h 4min 44 sec and improved the state record, which he has owned so far.
 
Saša Radenović (category 25-29 years old) and Bojan Mitrović (category 35-39 years) set national records in their age categories, while Dragan Jovanovic from Kotor (category 41-45 years) finished the race with a shining 9h 45min 46sec.
 
The first Montenegrin IRONMAN was the President of the Triathlon of Montenegro, Igor Majer, and Mladen Ilic, Bojan Mitrović, Danko Dragović, and Emile Mabit joined the company after the competition in Barcelona.
