Unlike those who planned to use the location to build something for themselves, their family, cousins and friends, the Democrats and URA Civil Movement are planning to, in cooperation with the Montenegro Football Federation and UEFA, build a stadium in the interest and for the benefit of all citizens

We are fed daily stories on the growth of the economy from authorities, both at local and regional levels. However, the fact is that Montenegro, compared to regional countries, still does not have one kilometre of highways, nor does it have a national stadium, which has been promised by the incompetent and irresponsible authorities from one election cycle to the next. Democrats and the URA Civil Movement are in agreement in rating the situation is such that Montenegro is behind compared to stadiums across Europe.

Thus, the construction of a national stadium is, for the coalition “Podgorica for the 21st century,” necessary and vital. Besides, athletes are the best ambassadors, who deserve the best conditions for progress, development and affirmation of themselves, sports and the state. People for the 21st century have created a concept design of a national stadium, at the location which has already been planned for it.

The building will be constructed by the highest European standards, with the highest quality inventory, with a large parking space. Steel construction will cover all seating areas. Also, in case of evacuation, the stadium will be built by the strictest standards of occupational safety, fire safety and environmental protection. In addition, the stadium will have commercial spaces for trade and catering.

At this moment the total capacity of the national stadium has not been determined, but the goal of the coalition “Podgorica for the 21st century” is the create a stadium with capacity which will make it competitive for a choice of European of world championship, in order for the city to be a host to significant and large-scale sports, but also cultural and artistic events.

The capital, nor the state, have no financial means to build the stadium, so the most realistic option is a public-private partnership. The capital will secure benefits with the help of the state, and the investor will build.

This is only the beginning of a better and more prosperous life in Podgorica. The coalition of people for the 21st century will complete projects important to Podgorica residents, as we feel the capital cannot and must not be just an administrative center, but a basis for the development of sports, culture and arts. Due to this, it is crucial for Podgorica to have such a facility, sports infrastructure of specified levels, to the pride of all citizens.

The town under Gorica needs a refreshment, new people, young leaders and new ideas for the benefit of all citizens, people for the 21st century.
