29 October 2018 - On October 29th, Deputy Prime Minister Rafet Husović hosted Ambassador of Germany to Montenegro, Robert Weber.

On this occasion, DPM Husović thanked Ambassador Weber for his visit and wished him great success in his work and a pleasant stay in Montenegro. According to the official report from the Montenegrin Government, the Deputy Prime Minister stated that Montenegro and Germany have developed good relations at all levels, especially in the political sphere, which has resulted in Germany's strong support for Montenegro's integration into NATO and the EU. Good relations between the two countries have also been influenced by numerous Montenegrins who currently live in Montenegro.

Ambassador Weber pledged Germany's strong commitment to supporting Montenegro's EU bid in all segments: "Besides contributing to the citizens of all regions of Montenegro, German investments in Montenegrin infrastructure through GIZ and KFB Bank, also contribute to attracting foreign investment with the goal of creating new jobs, especially in less developed areas of Montenegro".

Both sides agreed that local governments, especially in Northern Montenegro, need to be encouraged to make the best use of IPA funds intended for development projects. The two officials also stressed that it is necessary to create conditions for recognising Montenegrin driving licenses in Germany, which would be of great importance for the citizens of Montenegro living in Germany.
