10 September 2018 - On September 10, Prime Minister of Montenegro Duško Marković hosted the Speaker of the Hungarian Parliament László Kövér.

During the meeting, Montenegrin Prime Minister thanked Hungary for its partnership and friendship, strengthened by the alliance in NATO and in the field of European integration. He also emphasised that good mutual relations, highlighted by high-level visits, including the recent visit by Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orbán, can be further enhanced by more contentious economic cooperation.

On July 23rd, the Hungarian Prime Minister was on a first official visit to Montenegro since the country became an official NATO member. The visit of Prime Minister Orbán and the Speaker of the Hungarian Parliament László Kövér confirms excellent bilateral relations, Montenegrin partnership in NATO and European integration of Montenegro. The meetings were an excellent opportunity to exchange views on current political and security issues in the region and in Europe.

Speaker of the Hungarian Parliament László Kövér congratulated Montenegro on NATO membership and the results achieved in European integration, hopeful that Montenegro will join the European Union as soon as possible. Kövér stressed that Hungary will continue to be a reliable partner to Montenegro.  He especially congratulated Montenegro on the constructive policy and stabilisation role in the region.
