Minister of Infrastructure in Kosovo Pal Lekaj and Montenegrin Traffic and Maritime Minister Osman Nurkovic discussed about the road infrastructure today, especially about the possibilities of realizing a tunnel project between Rožaje and Peć, a project that would enable faster and safer traffic between the two states.

The Kosovo Minister also expressed the interest of citizens and industry for this road, pointing out that apart from facilitating the lives of citizens, it will be supported by strong economic and business activities.

The speakers agreed that travel routes should not be a limiting factor for the development of mountain tourism, since both countries have significant potential in this area.

Lekaj with his associates, is in an official visit to Montenegro today. Minister Lekaj and Minister Nurkovic visited the construction site of the Moračica Bridge, where they met with representatives of the contractors of the China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) and representatives of the INGEROP-GEODATA supervision company. Subsequently, Minister Nurkovic and Minister Pal Lekaj signed the Agreement between the Government of Montenegro and Kosovo on the Transport of Passengers and Freight in International Road Traffic. After signing, Nurkovic said that "Montenegro is working hard to harmonize new agreements in the field of road transport, both with the countries of the region and with European countries, in order to regulate cargo and passenger transport at bilateral level in accordance with its policy in this area ".

"One of the goals of our ministry is to remove administrative barriers, and in this sense, this agreement regulates the relations in the field of international road transport in a modern way to facilitate the flow of goods and passengers," Nurkovic said.

He stressed that "The Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs of Montenegro is conducting a freight transport liberalization policy with all partner countries that have a similar policy in international road transport, so that with the Republic of Kosovo an agreement has been reached to carry freight in bilateral and transit transport without permissions ". After a working meeting, Nurkovic pointed out that we are on the right path to strengthen our cooperation, and today's meeting is an opportunity to agree on the next concrete steps.
