26 September 2018 - All healthcare centres have been lacking penicillin since August, because it has been withdrawn from the market by the order of “Montefarm”. However, there is an appropriate replacement and patients are not under threat, as reported from the Institute for Public Health.

Penicillin is a beta-lactam antibiotic and is used for the treatment of infections caused by bacteria. Penicillin destroys gram-positive pathogens and a specific number of semi-synthetic penicillin is effective at killing gram-negative bacteria.

Also, influenza vaccines are here and around 18.580 vaccines against the flu arrived on Monday and they are now being distributed to health care institutions, as noted by the Institute.

Healthcare centres will inform the citizens about the place and the time of vaccination. The Institute for Public Health said that vaccines were the only effective prevention measure when it comes to the prevention of contracting the flu or its complications.
