13 August 2018 - Galatea Gallery from Podgorica and Bishop Ordinarijat Kotor, in cooperation with the Municipality of Kotor, are organizing the Jubilee 10th exhibition "The Most Beautiful Orthodox Icons in Montenegro" on the occasion of Saint Days of Velika Gospa, in the night of lumination.

The exhibition will be organized at the Pomirka Hall on the island of Gospa od Škrpjela on Tuesday, August 14, from 8:30 PM. The exhibition will be opened by the President of the Municipality of Kotor, Vladimir Jokić.

Art historian Alexander Chilikov stated in the preface of the catalog for the exhibition:

"The Seventh Vaseljena’s Assembly explicitly states that 'When we pray before the icon, we are being consecrated.' In other words, if the believer prays in front of the icons, he is directly confronted with the Saints displayed on them."

The same evening, after the opening of the exhibition, on the eve of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the people of Perast are organizing traditional luminaries on the island.

Transportation by boat to the island is planned just before the opening of the exhibition - on the coast in front of the Church of St. Nicholas in Perast.
