12 August 2018 - Within the manifestation "The Queen of Teuta at Rizinium", the First Painting Colony "Teuta" started working. Organized by the NGO "Bocche di Cattaro" and under the auspices of TO Kotor, the manifestation includes various cultural contents.

The first painting colony is led by the academic painter from Risan, Zoran Petrušić, who also selected young artists from Montenegro and Croatia.

“Hardworking Sanja Raonić, Tea Franca, Ana Aleksić, Dijana Vukićević, Jelena Kašić and Verena Jakuš will be creating paintings for seven days, and on the last day they will, within the framework of the Musical Poetry Program, showcase their talent and art," according to the president of NGO “Bocche di Cattaro", Marina Dulović.

Petrušić was guided by the idea to gather renowned artists who have a common thread in quality and creative uniqueness.

The exhibition will have a sales character and the funds are intended to provide a space for the cultural and social life of Risan. Given that there is no adequate space for such purposes in Risan, aside from the summer atrium of the Roman mosaics, it is their intention to provide such a space that serves for this purpose.

Within the framework of the same program, on August 16, at 8 PM on the Roman mosaics, an eco-cultural program related to the distant past and time of Queen Teuta and Illyrian, will be organized. The lecture is titled "Culture at the time of the Illyrian" and lecturers are archeologist Bogdan Lompar, ethnologist Jelena Vidović, art historian Jovana Lalošević and professor Marina Dulović.

The next day, on August 17, at 8 PM on the main square, a music and poetry program will be held with the Lanterna Quartet, which cherishes the Mediterranean sound, myths, and legends about the "beautiful" queen, and an exhibition of the First Painting Colony "Teuta" will open.

The last day, August 19 in the morning from 8 am to 11 am, the Fair of Old Crafts "Teuta" will be organized. The exhibitors are the owners of antiques and tools related to the cultural past of Risan and the Bay of Kotor.

The goal of the event is to complete the overall cultural and tourist offer of the Bay of Kotor as well as to complete the wish of people gathered around the organization to make Risan shine again. They want to present the cultural heritage of Risan’s distant past and the values that make the country recognized on the cultural map of Montenegro.
