Tenth Winter School of Science - The Lovćen Research Station begins on Saturday, March 17, at Ivanova korita (Ivan’s basin).



The Foundation for the promotion of science, Prona, the camp organizer, announced that the school is attended by thirty talented high school students from various parts of Montenegro, reports CdM on March 16, 2018.

As they pointed out, in the past months, the students received topics for research in the field of physics, mathematics, astronomy, chemistry, biology, medicine and electronics, and with the advice and assistance of the mentors, processed and passed all the steps of research.

"After formulating assumptions, doing experiments, compiling results and writing the work, young researchers will present conclusions in a multi-day camp. Some of the topics that the students will deal with include Star formations and their significance, Parachute modeling, Voltaire equations, Chemistry of happiness, Medical chemistry in the fight against viruses, the Limbic system - memory and emotions, Exoplanet hunting, Significance of biochemical analysis of liquor in neurological diagnostics, the Krebs cycle in the basis of life, cryopreservation technologies in the IVF, the "junk" DNA continues to keep secret," the statement said.

One of the goals of the Prona project Winter Science School is to achieve a higher level of scientific literacy of young people in Montenegro, encouraging a more creative and innovative approach to education.

The donors of the Research Station Lovćen are the Government Commission for the allocation of part of the revenues from gamble games and the Ministry of Science. The friend of the camp is Q-Tek.
