August 19, 2020 - Hotel group Casa del Mare and Michelin-starred chef Eros Picco have presented a multi-year project for the pop-up restaurant Casa Epico. From August 14 to 16 at the Casa del Mare Mediterraneo in Kamenari, visitors had the opportunity to discover excellent dishes that combine the best of their two brands and the Mediterranean in the Boka way.
The home of Mediterranean flavors Casa Epico is planned for next year as a pop-up restaurant running for several weeks. The presentation of the concept was made over three promotional evenings where Eros and Casa del Mare chefs prepared the best Mediterranean recipes using local ingredients. In search of the best groceries, they visited a large number of rural households and farms.
"From the day Eros came, until the very beginning of the promotional evenings, we did not stop looking for Montenegro's best. Everything that was prepared that evening was fresh - nothing was frozen, nothing was imported. It required a lot of dedication and effort, but the satisfaction was tremendous. We wanted to show Casa Epico magic, and judging by the reactions of visitors, we succeeded in that," said Casa del Mare's Director of marketing and sales Milena Milić.
The Casa del Mare and Eros Picco team visited the Sikimić household in the village of Žlijebi, the Moric household in Luštica, the Savina winery, the shellfish farm in Kamenari, and Njeguši, Vrbanj and Grahovo.
"I was especially fascinated by the diversity in such a small area, the meeting of different climates, which allows you to have the highest quality ingredients that grow in your natural environment. It is impressive that in such a small geographical area, you have geographic and climatic conditions for drying prosciutto, growing olives, but also potatoes. The Mediterranean and mountain climate intertwine in this place, and it is something that left a powerful impression on me," said chef Eros Picco.
Casa Epico combines typical local flavors and fresh local ingredients with Mediterranean flavors, using the most modern and very best processing and preparation techniques.
The project was supported by the National Tourist Organization and the local Tourist Organization of Herceg Novi.
