The International Guitar Competition (MIGC) will be held from the 23 to 28 of May this year in Tivat and Podgorica, including a concert, competition and master workshop program, the organizers announced.
Part of the program in Tivat also includes a concert and master workshops with one of the best classical guitarists of today, Manuel Baruek from Cuba, who will perform for the first time in Montenegro.
"An important segment of the program includes the performances and workshops of the Young Stars, the winners of guitar competitions in Europe: Antoine Morini, Rafael Feljatr (France) Andrea Roberto, Nikola Montela (Italy), Jesse Flauvers (Australia / Germany), Antero Pelika (Finland), Niklas Johansen (Denmark), Peter Giran (Hungary), Vedran Vujica (BiH), Dmitro Omelchak (Ukraine) and Bojan Dojcev (Bulgaria), " the statement said.
The competition in Tivat will take place in 13 categories, and the prize pool includes handmade guitars by builders Andreas Marvieus and Slavko Mrdalj, D'Addario gift packs, and a concert with the Montenegrin Symphony Orchestra.
A special novelty is the "Electric Guitar" competition, which is realized in cooperation with the Capital Plaza Center at the Hard Rock Cafe in Podgorica. On that occasion, musicians will gather "of somewhat different musical directions, not only from Podgorica and Montenegro, but also from other cities of the region and Europe." The president of the jury is Macedonian guitarist Vlatko Stefanovski, who will hold a concert on May 23rd.
