October 26, 2018 - The proxy of the former General Director of Radio-Television of Montenegro (RTCG) Andrijana Kadija, attorney Marija Radulović, said that she expects the court to conscientiously and objectively consider the proposed evidence and ultimately make the only legitimate decision possible to undo the unlawful solution related to her shift.

"What I would like to point out is that it is absolutely clear to everyone that the reasons for the dismissal of Andrijana Kadija are not factually grounded. I think that, in support of how much legally-based are the decisions of RTCG Council on the dismissals of general directors, is shown by the results of previous court proceedings, led by Branko Vojičić and Rada Vojvodić, and I believe that this process, too, will go in that direction," Radulović said. She has proposed, in addition to Kadija, that the editor of the broadcasts of RTCG Svetlana Slavujević, Miodrag Bubreško, Ratka Pavlović and Irena Rašović are to be heard as witnesses by the judge of the Basic Court in Podgorica, Biljana Krgovic and in relation the circumstances of the influence on the editorial policy, Kadija filed a lawsuit against RTCG and asked the Basic Court to annul the decision on her dismissal because she considers it illegal. At the beginning of June, she was dismissed as Director-General for a controversial contract with the Center for Civic Education (CGO), which according to the earlier conclusion of RTCG Council created an opportunity for that NGO to endanger the editorial independence of the Public Service. RTCG Legal Representative Dimitrije Prentić accepted the proposals, and the next hearing is scheduled for 29th November at 12:45.

Radulović requested audio records to be submitted from the two sessions of the RTCG Council, that is, one on which the shift of Kadija was launched and the other on which it was actually carried out. "The power of argument with which RTCG enters into this trial I think speaks for itself that is they have not provided any evidence in response to the claim in relation to what they request, so this is sufficient to show the severity of their approach to this case. This has in some way been overwritten to Mima Draskovic's initiative, which is largely known to the public, that everything is in accordance with the law without any more detailed entry into the issue and substance itself. "

Kadija was replaced after months of political pressure into the public service at the initiative of one of the members of RTCG Council Mima Draskovic.

The formal reason for the termination was a contract signed by RTCG with the Center for Civic Education (CGO), which, according to the member of the Council Board Mima Drašković allows to interfere with the editorial policy of the public service.

Kadija said that she was aware that he could not defend "the decisions made beforehand", that she was unlawfully replaced, and that she was "guilty" because she was "apolitical."
