October 23, 2018 - Kotor's Mayor, Vladimir Jokić, expects the concession act between the "Port of Kotor AD" and the Government of Montenegro for the port area in this town would be signed by the Day of the Kotor Municipality, 21 November. The Port of Kotor AD and the Municipality have done everything they could. Now the government bodies have to do their part of the job.

The President of the Municipality of Kotor, Vladimir Jokić, expressed hope that the concession for the "Port of Kotor" A.D. could be obtained by November 21st.

The concession would be issued for a period of twelve years on the port area, and the business plan "Port of Kotor" submitted to the Ministry of Transport and Maritime on October 1 this year, includes an investment of over five million EUR.

"If we do not have any major breaks, I hope that the Kotor Municipality Day will be much more relaxed this year and we will be able to say that AD Port of Kotor will be in the concession area," Jokić said to Radio Kotor.

As Jokić stated, what follows is the part of job under the authority of state organs.

"The management of the Port of Kotor has done a very good job in cooperation with the people in the profession, giving the investment plan and other required documents. I believe their opinions will be positive because they were all involved in the procedure. After that, the Government should prepare a concession act, and then sign the agreement with the Port of Kotor AD," Jokić said.

It is expected that the efforts made will lead to results.

"In this way, security for the operations of the Port of Kotor is gained. The investment plan submitted to the Government has infrastructure and supra-construction projects that would be owned by the Port of Kotor after 12 years, all of which would have meant better management of cruise tourism. It would have been a relief from pollution and improvement of security, which is one of the key assumptions of good and real development of this city," Jokić said.
