August 27, 2018 - The exhibition of one of the most interesting and provocative Montenegrin contemporary artists, Zoran Živković from Kotor, is open at the Kotor Gallery of Solidarity. Živković is not exposed too often, but his every exhibition is a true event for art lovers.

"The exhibition is made up of over 30 paintings, acrylic on canvas. Works have been created in the last half of the year as a result (partly unexpected for me) for a long process of drawing sketches of different anti-fascist heritage and symbols that, much deeper than I believed, were incorporated into the world of ideas and the environment in which I grew up. The exhibition was originally called "Bright Moments," as a free or slightly more poetic translation of the legal institute “Lucida Intervalla”. It is a Latin term used to describe a rare state of pure, enlightened consciousness within a long period of disturbance caused by various causes. I believe that in each of us (but also in the historical and social sense), things are mostly happening in a cyclic mode with rare moments that represent important, valuable exploits and which are the basis of our joy and pride. In doing so, I wanted the paintings to have some pulsating, latent vitality and to be free from anything that could be considered superfluous. Ultimately, it does not matter what I wanted, it is important what happened on these paintings," said the artist on the eve of the exhibition in Kotor for ART Vijesti.

Zoran Živković (1969, Kotor), graduated at the Faculty of Law in Belgrade, criminal law and the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cetinje, in painting. He has completed postgraduate studies at FLU Cetinje, in wall painting and mosaic.

So far, he has exhibited independently in Podgorica, Cetinje, Herceg Novi, Belgrade, Ljubljana, Berlin, Tallinn, and in groups at several exhibitions and biennials. He lives in Kotor.

The exhibition is set up in the Solidarity Gallery (Palata Pima, Old Town), and the writer Balša Brković will open it on Sunday at 9 pm.
