Blazo Djukanovic, son of Montenegrin President Milo Djukanovic, expanded his interest in business into the information technology sphere - at the end of June, he became the co-founder of the company “Kodio” from Podgorica.

The younger Djukanovic took over from his father's ownership the management of Capital Invest on June 25th, after he was elected president of the state.

On the same day, as written in the Central Register of Business Entities, he became the co-founder with 40 percent of the equity capital at “Kodio”, whose core business is information technology.

Partners in this company are Saša Šćepanović (50 percent of the capital) and Vladimir Perunović (10 percent).

Šćepanović is the Executive Director.

“Kodio” is the fourth firm controlled by Blažo Dukanovic.

So far, the son of the head of state has focused mainly on energy business and building hydropower plant construction, with his business partner Ivan Burzanovic, with whom he has two companies “BB Solar” and “BB Hidro”.

“BB Solar”, as stated on their site, was founded in Podgorica with the aim of increasing energy efficiency and preserving the quality of the environment by switching to renewable, non-polluting energy sources.

It deals with all alternative energy sources with a special accent on the solar system. In recent years, “BB Solar” has implemented numerous lighting replacement projects in Montenegrin cities.

“BB Solar” had a net profit of around 163.2 thousand euros last year, 6.5 times higher than in 2016, according to the financial statements of the company submitted to the Tax Administration.

In 2016, the company had a profit of 24,570 euros, a year earlier 13,134 euros, in 2014 9,915 and in 2013 about 145 thousand euros.

The business revenues of the company, whose core business is the design and execution of all types of electrical installations, amounted to more than EUR 1.6 million, about 160 thousand more than in 2016. Operating expenses were reduced by about 25,000 to about EUR 1.38 million.

“BB Solar” was founded in 2011. In addition to the company BB Solar, with Burznović, Dukanovic also founded “BB Hidro”, which has ambitiously entered the lucrative business of the construction of mini-hydro power plant in Kolasin, for which they are in the process of obtaining construction permits from the Ministry of Sustainable Development. Unlike the solar energy company, “BB Hidro” judged from the financial report by the Tax Administration for the past year was at a loss of 6,200 euros, while the total loss accumulated to 29,000 euros. However, the firm has increased the company's capital for more than 110,000 euros in a year.
