Mihajlović: Highway Connecting Montenegro and Serbia to Begin

October 17, 2018 - The Serbian Minister of Civil Engineering Zoran Mihajlovic and Montenegrin Traffic and Maritime Minister Osman Nurkovic talked about building a highway on Corridor 11. They also discussed the reconstruction of the Belgrade-Bar railway line.

"Next year, we will start work on the section from Preljina to Požega on the highway that will connect Serbia and Montenegro. For the next section, from Požega to Boljare, it is planned that we will have the project-technical documentation completed next year and start talking about the financing model. Also, in the new program with the Russian Railways, we have foreseen the continuation of the Belgrade-Bar railway line renewal," Mihajlovic said.

In a statement from her cabinet, Minister Nurkovic said that for Montenegro, the priorities in infrastructure are the construction of the Bar-Boljare highway and the railway connection with Serbia, which is important also for the development of Port Bar.

At a meeting held at the margins of the Third Summit of Ministers of the PR of China and 16 Central and Eastern European Countries, hosted by Mihajlovic, the collocutors expressed their satisfaction with the overall cooperation of two ministries in the field of transport and infrastructure.

Upon completion of the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government gave Nurkovic a handmade gift made by women of the village, under the initiative "Let's Employ 1,000 Women in Rural Areas".
