16 September 2018 - After the record-breaking July, the national carrier Montenegro Airlines transported a total of 104,861 passengers this August, in all three categories of traffic (regular, charter and code-share traffic), with six operating airplanes and within 1097 regular and charter flights. These results show an increase of 169 flights, 19,824 passengers or 23.3% more passengers compared to August 2017. This result is another record in the company’s history.

The destinations with the largest average occupancy of passengers are Belgrade 90%, Munich 88%, Ljubljana 87%, St. Petersburg 84% and Frankfurt 80%.

During the three months of the summer season, in June, July and August, Montenegro Airlines transported a total of 277,783 passengers in all three categories of traffic within 3,064 flights, which is an increase of 44,385 passengers or 19% more passengers compared to the same period last year. During this year's summer season, the MA planes travelled to 27 different destinations in 15 countries.

The MA expectations for September include nearly 80 thousand passengers, which will benefit the planned goal - to transport more than 350 thousand passengers from the beginning of June to the end of September 2018.

Within the first eight months of 2018, Montenegro Airlines transported a total of 454,870 passengers in all three categories of traffic within 5,340 flights, which is an increase of 54,733 passengers or 13.7% more passengers than in the same period in 2017.

These results were achieved in conditions of great competition on the market, where, besides the MA, around 45 other regular, charter and low-cost airlines operate in the summer season. Nevertheless, MA succeeded in transporting between a quarter and a third of the total number of passengers at Montenegrin airports annually.

Živko Banjević, Executive Director of the Montenegro Airlines, pointed out that the results achieved by MA in 2018 are the result of successful implementation of the business consolidation plan and optimal commercial strategy.
