06 August 2018 - In July 2018, national carrier Montenegro Airlines transported 98,297 passengers, in all three categories of traffic, with 6 operating aircraft, which is 12,854 passengers or 15% more than in July last year. This set a new record in over two decades of the company's long-term business. Even in the previous period when eight planes were included in the traffic during the summer months, this year’s number of passengers was not reached.
Destinations with the highest average occupancy of the passenger compartment are Belgrade and Ljubljana with 88%, followed by Copenhagen 85%, Moscow 84%, London 83%, etc.
In the first seven months of this year, Montenegro Airlines transported 348,659 passengers, which is 33,559 passengers or 10,7% more than in the same period last year.
This result was achieved under conditions of great competition in the Montenegrin airline market, where, besides Montenegro Airlines, around 45 other regular, charter and low-cost airlines operate in the summer months.
Živko Banjević, Executive Director of Montenegro Airlines, pointed out: "The achieved results confirm that the measures undertaken by the Government of Montenegro and the company's leadership in the financial and organizational restructuring of the company were carried out in the right way and in accordance with the goals set for 2018, as well as in the long term."
During this year's summer season, Montenegro Airlines travels to 27 destinations in 15 countries. The plan for the company is to carry around 620,000 passengers during 2018.
