May 17, 2018 - The exchange of good practices is necessary for further improvement of relations, therefore, in the forthcoming period, we will work on intensifying direct cooperation between Montenegrin and Italian institutions and individuals working in the field of culture, which was agreed at the meeting between the Minister of Culture Aleksandar Bogdanovic and Italian Ambassador in our country Luca Celiolia.

They emphasized the importance of joint projects and the research of the archaeological site Duklja, which includes investigators from Montenegro in cooperation with the National Research Council of Italy - CNR.

"Bogdanović has apostrophized the importance of CNR's support in this project and the ability to engage this institution in research on other archaeological sites in the territory of Montenegro, such as the Svaca or the Red Rock," said a statement from the Ministry of Culture.

There were also rumors about nominations for the UNESCO World Heritage List, and Celioli pointed out that Italy's experience in this area could be helpful to Montenegro.

"Bogdanovic and Celioli confirmed the importance of cooperation within the IPA Cross-border Cooperation Program Italy-Albania-Montenegro, within which successful cooperation with Institutions from the Puglia Region will be realized, and several projects in the field of culture will be implemented in the forthcoming period" concluded the statement.
