The international competitions, the 54th and the 18th World Championships in Boat Angling for Seniors and U21 respectively, organized by the Portuguese Deep Sea Angling Federation, completed in the town of Setubal, Portugal. The Montenegrin team finished in 8th place in general placement.

The Montenegrin national team, including Dejan Sijerković, Dejan Beljkaš, Ivan Dejanović, Radovan Popović, Marko Radosavljevic and Miloš Dašić, despite the extremely unfavorable rivalry, won the eighth place. The surprise was made by Spain, who took the victory. The second place was won by Italy, third went to Croatia, while the host, the Portugal national team, came in fourth place.

The first place in the singles competition was Mauro Salvatori from Italy.

Dejan Sijerković was the most successful Montenegrin competitor, who, in the competition of 82 experienced fishermen, took 17th place. Also successful in the singles competition was Ivan Dejanovic (31st place), Marko Radosavljević (34th) and Radovan Popović (38th place).

"I'm happy with the placement of our team. The fight was not kind to us, but it’s sport. With the maximum effort and struggle up to the last minute of every day, they managed to overcome. They also defeated the former world champions. After the sixth place last year in Croatia, we have once again proved that we can be equally concurrent with rearing teams," said the president of the Alliance for Sports Fishing on the Sea and leader of Montenegrin expedition, Mladen Rostović.
