The landing of the "Airbus A-319" by the Belgian company "Brussels Airlines," which was welcomed at the Tivat airport platform with a traditional greeting, marked the official start of airline traffic for this company - a member of the Lufthansa Group with Montenegro.

Brussels Airlines comes after Austrian Airlines and Eurowings, which already fly to Podgorica and Tivat. They make up a third of the five Lufthansa Group airline companies, which establishes regular traffic with Montenegro. The Director of Montenegro Airports, Danilo Orlandic, said that they are aiming to bring all five companies from the Lufthansa Group to Montenegro.

"It is an extraordinary honor to have Brussels Airlines as our partner today. This says a lot about the results we have made to increase Montenegro's accessibility as a tourist destination in regards to airline traffic, because Brussels Airlines has more than 3,600 employees, a fleet of 48 airplanes which operates 250 flights every day linking the European capital of Brussels with 115 destinations in Europe, Africa, Asia, and the USA," said Orlandic.

He said that Tivat and Podgorica airports had 65,000 more passengers since the beginning of the year to now than in the same period last year and they expect a total turnover of more than 2.5 million passengers this year.
